Quite good and funny. The audio levels were good, the voice acting was fine, sound choices were also good. Although a lot of it is reverse psychology to the player, but that is fine too. If you are lost and don't know what to do. Shh and listen, he won't repeat himself. If your not getting any hints. Try to be clever. If that fails, well then you should not go play another not game. cause your baaaa d at it.

Graphics 9/10 : I could of done with a bigger playscreen with the same quality.

Sound: 9/10: Being able to turn the radio off after your done with it would have been nice.

Gameplay 8/10: Not having a clue that there is nothing left to do with something bugged me. I kept filling the water boiler trying to get a clock part to overflow out of it. (which there is NOT one in there)

Story 2/10: Your trapped with no explanation why. The note of a being which has stopped time in his dreams by breaking the clock and willing it so is a bit over used and contrived. And unless the ghost was a total bitch and/or evil that didn't care about her kid. she would let the girl go get her kid.

Overall 7/10: Its a fun little game that can keep you entertained for about 10 to 15 minutes if your good at these kind of games.

Final Notes: If there is to be sequels/prequels I hope that things are smoothed out a bit and maybe a few things i mentioned are addressed. Namely the story.

Decent game except for the fact there are a lot of problems.
1) The truck is too close to the car pick ups that some get stuck and you have to start the level over.
2) Level 7 with the trackhoe and got to the hill about 10 seconds in and can't get up the hill even with the $20,000 truck.
3) No quality setting in the settings tab. With only a music on or off choice.
4) The buttons are unlabeled for menu options.
5) The controls are not mentioned.
These are simple fixes, and i just probably can't figure out the trick for level 7.
Also please give us a few extra audio loops to choose from.

XD I've been had. its april 2 and i still got fooled. Love the concept. go ahead with complete project of this. it would be awsomely hilariously kick-arse.

Quick note for those going nuts trying to beat it. YOU CAN'T. and you have been april fooled.
If you do not believe this. here is the evidence. Post Date of April 1st, file size: 3.8 Mega Bytes.
and no amount of button smashing or rapid tap macros will work.

decent time waster

its a decent game. and like others have said. using the automatic weapons when you click real fast you can still wind up double tapping and shooting two buttons. had to redo the P90 accuracy challenge more times than the peacemaker challenge.

I have managed to finish everything that i can in 3 hours. all i'm doing is waiting now.

the only thing i really didn't like was the shoot 980 rounds with the Kar 98K. it took me about half an hour to do that alone.

little tip for those of you who just want to shoot enough rounds and make the challenges easier. here is what you do.

NOTE: this only works for automatic weapons.
go to warm-up. hold the left-click and then click the right click. then take your hand away and you should still be shooting. now you can go take a piss or get something to eat etc etc and come back to having enough rounds fired.

O_O

I've played plenty of point and click games with tons of puzzles and even ones where you shoot things.

but with the set-up, delivery of events, and other things i would highly suggest trying to get anyone from the Silent Hill game line to play this game and see if you don't wind up with a job working with them on future projects.

there were certain parts that were creepy and made no sense. the crying baby sound down the hole and the freaky clown girl that made me think of the Saw doll.

In all honesty. you did a better job of scaring me than Silent Hill or Resident evil games or movies have done. For the first time in years i have actually been scared. not just startled. mainly that creepy figure that disappears in the same hallway as the clown girl. the clown girl just made me go (click click... didn't shoot. click back arrow... didn't run away... she disappeared.... anti-climatic?...)

sadly a couple parts were just a little too complex or just didn't make sense till after it was done. namely the gas in the ziplock bag... "its not airtight" ... i thought that was the point of ziplock bags... so i have to use string to tie it shut?... odd.

anyways. here is my more in depth scoring.

Gameplay: 8 (some places were just hard to click on or notice)
Graphics: 9 (simple, but worked. i felt the enemies should have been darker.)
Sounds: 9 (some points about gave me a headache.)
mechanics: 8 (interesting puzzles kept me going. some were too hard.)
controls: 9 (simple clicking is fine by mean. can concentrate on other things.)

I hope this review helps you on your future projects.

P.S. I laughed most of the time while playing Silent Hill 4: The Room. The monsters were so pathetic and not scary. The giant face was the only creepy thing. I even laughed at the final boss and his area.

Ransom responds:

Thanks for the helpful review! As this is my first game I've ever made (aside from a silly whack-a-mole game 8 years ago) there are a few things I overlooked. Thanks for pointing them out, I'll be sure to take the advice into my next project.

As for the ziplock plastic bag and the hose, try it for real. There'll always be a gap either side of the hose when you try to ziplock it into the bag. Tying some string around the neck should seal it off :)

Found a little glitch

it gets only an 8 just for the pure randomness and lack of sense of the series of events, but not a bad game.

as for the glitch. i was doing the part with the sun puzzle. i placed a piece inside the puzzle area that didn't lock into place and hit restart and the piece was perminantly stuck in the puzzle play area and i solved the puzzle, but cause of the extra piece it wouldn't let me continue so i had to refresh the page and start all over.

Pretty Good

Sadly I only give it a 5/5 9/10 because certain parts were rather annoying. I spent an hour or two. Trying to get enough money on level 19 to beat Genu (level 20). Sadly I had only been able to find the secret 3 Million cash once and lucky near the very beginning levels. Never figured out how, where, or why I got it.

In the end I quit playing at level 22 with: The Epic Red Ship and a bunch of upgrades, including the legendary upgrades.

I really don't feel like working up 10 million and going to the boss world or fighting the creator of Genu. Adds replayability for some people. To me its just over kill unless there is even more SUPER KICK @$$ AWSOME upgrades to be had.

My only real complaints would be.
1) I don't like that the enemies can slip by on the sides of the screen and make you unaware that you lost your 100% chance
2) Its a top down shooter with a oversized horizontal playing field (needs more vertical space to do more dodging)
3) The bosses are just completely random with no set pattern as to how they shoot (And the little blocker units Genu has need to have less health. by the time you kill them more just spawn.)
4) There IS a glitch that randomly appears that i dealt with a few times like a few others have to where you can't seem to go in some directions till you hit cloak or hyper speed.
5) Not getting 100% of the enemies gets you 5,000 no matter what level your on.
6) I prefer my stats being known in numbers instead of bars, but that's minor.
7) Sure the ships look cool, but they are too large and can't dodge worth crap. (Your ship doesn't looks so good constantly being shot does it?)
---Other than these things I still give the game a good rating for managing to keep my attention for as long as it did. (about 4 to 5 hours total.

NOTE TO THE PLAYERS:

There is a legendary upgrade store where you can purchase a passive mod that lets you have up to 20 modes + the black market mod that adds +4 (really +3 cause you have to use a slot to equip it) giving you a total of 23 equip slots. it makes all the difference in this game and you practically need it. It cost 7 Million.

All Mods/Upgrades bought at the nebula or Legendary shops will work with all ships and only have to be bought once. Watch where your clicking though. You might accidentally sell the mod you already bought.

AND SAVE A LOT. There is no downside or punishment for saving a ton. JUST REMEMBER TO TURN YOUR COOKIES ON. You do have to manually save.

Nicely done!

You should a little work into making this a "sound optional" screen saver.

I think it could turn out real well. might have to up the graphics for large screens, but no biggy.

A little honesty.

First off, This is a very well made and constructed game. I spent plenty of time playing it. I also searched almost every square inch of the world for items and things. Sadly though, since I have beat it, I can't find myself replaying it.

Second, The deal with the story. I read a review that says its a total rip off of earthbound. Well in all honesty i never got to fair on earthbound to compare, but this day and age. There is no such thing as a "new" idea. Change the names, art, mechanics, or everything and yet you still will wind up being able to compare it to something.

Third, about the music and colors. I get it, I understand it, but a couple parts are just a little too much. Like the final boss part and the scene that triggers midway. (trying to avoid spoilers) That could have been reduced a little in length. Just to top it off. A mute button wouldn't of hurt the game, or at least a volume setting.

Finally, about the game mechanics. I don't mind the Grid system. In fact I Like it. I don't even mind the power bar system cause it keeps you busy so you don't get bored with the game. HOWever... there part where that one monster can use a attack and make you press a button rapidly... more than annoying. That part i didn't like.

As for in the sequel, I would hope to see/hear more up beat music. The song maroon remorse made sense how it was. Its part of the story so i can understand. And just for fun, Add an old lady that turns into some big ugly thing. whats a RPG series without a crazy or monster granny.

Little note about a few things:

The ability: Brain Drain (you'll see it eventually) is a little rigged or broken i suppose. If you simple just hold down the buttons it says your keyboard will do all the work. This however does NOT work for the monster that attacks and makes you MAYBE have to rapidly press a button real fast.

Note for Author: your spell checker forgot to spell check the credits.
